Data and Data protection:

Basically data means any sort of information. But when it comes to data protection, data only refers to personal details of a living person. In the past many companies and Organizations seems to be unsure of how and when to protect and manage personal details they hold. Personal details under data protection refers to any piece of information that would be used to recognize a person, such as names, telephone numbers, addresses, anniversary dates, birthdays, Fax numbers, email addresses and etc. Under data protection these personal details held or intend to be held in automatically operated equipments in response to given instruction, to be simple in computers, are intended to be protected from misuse other than the specific purpose they were collected for or disclosing details to other parties without the awareness of the person whom it’s about.
